I have this huge pimple on my chin. When I say huge, I mean huge! It's like the queen of all pimples. It's really swollen and hasn't formed a head yet. My whole chin is swollen. It hurts to touch and it's like hard and tight. I can like feel it getting bigger by the second. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to go down. I stuck my face over a bowl of hot water and a towel draped over my head. I've put toothpaste on it. I've put a cream on it that has benzoyl peroxide in it. Nothing seems to be working. Now I'm sitting here holding some ice to my chin. Does anyone have any home remedies that actually work? I looked in the memories and some of the stuff I don't have lying around the house. I don't really want to buy anything if I don't have to. I just want the swelling to go down. It's been like this for 2 days and it's driving me insane.

I just got one of those, I get them once in awhile, and nothing really helps. The ice will help with the swelling and pain. Other than that, I just cleanse gently and try not to pick at (which usually doesn't work, lol)

Ugh. I have the same thing. Except I have one on the side of my nose and just got another on my cheek! it sucks because hardly ever ever get these kind and all the sudden they've sprung up and are impossible to get rid of! apparently the best thing to do for these is to wait it out and not touch it.

The last time I had one of those I put some hydrocortisone cream on it overnight. It was almost gone by morning, and completely gone by the following!

seconded. but don't do this regularly - only for monster pimples. if you do it all the time it actually makes you break out more.

Good to know! I get those monster pimples on my chin and in between my eyebrows sometimes and they KILL!

wow this comment is REALLY old! but i googled hydrocortisone cream and pimples and it brought me this entry. i have one between my eyes AND one on the side of my nose near my inner eye and they hurt so bad. :(

If it hurts when you touch it, it means its a stress pimple.

Put a thin layer of a benzol peroxide cream on it a couple of times a day. It won't seem like it's helping, but it will keep it from getting any bigger, and help it go away faster. It will take a couple of days to go away.

Hold a potato on it, the inside part, and the starch will draw the pimple to a head. Then tip the head with a needle that will relieve the pressure. Then (don't squeeze it!) stretch the skin around it outward. Following that, wash it gently then massage a dab of hydrocortisone cream (not ointment) onto it. That'll take down the swelling and take out the redness.
