white eyeliner

Am I doing this wrong? White eyeliner on lower rim is supposed to make your eyes pop, right? It seems so.. ostentatious to me, and doesn't seem to make anything pop. I just look like I have tired eyes with white eyeliner on. O.o;

i've heard white liner on the bottom waterline or on the inner corners of your eyes.
but, i agree. it doesn't seem to work for me neither.

Haha I'm asian, doesn't work at all, I tried it and it looked horrible on me.

I find the white eyeliner looks unnatural on some pple too b/c not all eyes are perfectly white and depending on skin colouring, it may make the pure whiteness very obvious.

Try a white-pink or white-yellow eyeliner which Shu Umeura and Benefit has.

I find white eyeliner makes my eyes look puffy and diseased, but a very pale blue makes them look larger and more awake.

second. off-white (even sometimes with a slight gold or silver hue, depending on your skin tone) works much better for most people than bright white. if it still looks strange, go for a bit of shadow instead of eyeliner - it'll be more subtle.

There's no magic potion that works fabulous on everyone, an if there were, it would certainly *not* be white eyeliner. I really want to know who let that happen. Anyway, try a pale shimmer depending on your skintone like a peach or a pale pink. I like Bare Escentuals Cultured Pearl and 1960's.

It's not using it as you'd use a normal eyeliner on your lashline.... you're just using a little on your inner rim. For me, since I have sensitive eyes, after I take off my eye makeup in the morning (from the previous day... yea that's bad) my eyes get red. The white eyeliner helps to neutralize the red and make my eyes look more natural and awake and.... not red, haha. I agree, though, that there's nothing that will work fabulous on everyone!

Ok after looking at all this comments, I feel really wierd but I use white eyeliner on my eyelid just like one would use for any normal eyeliner.

I tried this after I seen Tyra do it. Hers looked awesome and all bright and mine just looked dumb.

I use it on the inside lower corner of the lower lid - not all the way across. It also looks better if the white is a frost, and not too thick. I wish I had pictures to show you, but I get compliments on it all th etime.

Are you just wearing white alone? Cause when I do that, it seems really weird.

I put a little white eye shaodw on the inner corner of my eye to looka bit more awake.. i haven't been able to figure out the white eyeliner thing either

i use to use it on the corners but i dunno i don't anymore also when I did that i lived in new mexico and i dunno they had a HUGE thing for white eyeliner among the hispanics they used em to line there whole top eyelid so I've seen this done all sorts of ways n sadly i never seen it actuelly make the eyes "pop" i think we all just looked stupid

I will not go without white eyeliner - definitely makes your eyes pop. I love eyeliner, and I love dramatic eyes (not gothic, just dramatic) - I line my eyes with black on the inner rims, upper and lower, and along the top of the lid, extending past the outer corner of the eye for a dramatic look. I then take white eyeliner and make a line above the black on the top of the lid. The cheap white eyeliner seems to work best because it's smoother.
